In my growing desire to spend my 20′s as a nomad with a mobile income, I’ve been studying Internet Marketing (IM). This is of course a fancy term for marketing on the internet. Last night I was reading over some IM material and my thoughts slowly drifted towards women. As I was reading an IM principle I said to myself, “I wonder if this would apply to picking up women?”
The Internet Marketing Squeeze Page
In IM there’s what’s known as a squeeze page. A squeeze page can mean a lot of things, but for the most part it serves this purpose: It offers you something free and of value in EXCHANGE for your email address.
This offer is usually a short report or free eBook that relates to the product the company is trying to sell.
Conversion Rates Of Squeeze Pages
The typical squeeze page developed by an average marketer will convert about 20% of ‘cold’ prospects. ‘Cold’ prospects are people arriving at the site (via ads, or other links) who have no previous knowledge of the website or company. So on average, if a hundred new people visit your squeeze page, 80 will leave, 20 will enter in their email address.
Applying This Concept to Picking Up Women
Seeing that I don’t have a cell phone in South America, and only have an email address in which to contact people, I think this is a perfect time to test whether or not this concept applies to picking up women.
My Goal
I am going to try to convert 1/5 of my conversations with women into email addresses.
My ‘Offer’
Most squeeze page offers are pretty good – they give you free, helpful information. My offer will be a little different – it’s me. I can offer fun, excitement, and something different to South American women. The only drawback might be the language barrier, but in some cases, it can work to my advantage. And, I don’t believe in drawbacks.
‘Cold’ Prospects
I’ll be attempting to get the email addresses of girls I haven’t previously met. But here’s the thing, when someone arrives at a squeeze page it’s because they’ve clicked an ad or link. They’re going somewhere they want to go.
Therefore, bars and nightclubs will better simulate what I’m going for than say, day time approaches. People go out at night looking to meet new people. So I’ll assume that night-time interactions will convert at a higher rate. I’ll test my conversion rate during the day just to see if there’s any discrepancy.
The Sample Size
If I approach 3-4 women for the next 30 days that will put me right around 100. So we’ll start there.
Documentation
I’ll write up a summary every night and report back to you guys with interesting stories and observations along the way.

wow, you are an idiot. maybe you should try to focus on yourself a little instead of your materialistic lifestyle while traveling. you know a lot of women think you will save them and get them out of poverty. that is your draw, just remember that as your breaking hearts.
Sheila, I have a sinking suspicion I know you.
I honestly really took my “game” to the next level once I took a hardcore marketing position…basically cold calling CFO’s and C-Level Execs. I can’t help but think of women and use the same strategy.
Example: I went over and befriended a bachelorette party and got in tight and did some shots w/ the Mom. She’s like, “My daughter Jenny is super single and she’s really pretty!” Indeed, Jenny was hot. Top-Down Approach.
Also “fake it till you make it” and just the similar strategies/thought processes we use to analyze a customer are perfect – after all we’re marketing ourselves to women and hoping they’ll buy in to our sales pitch.
I also don’t give it one bit of a care if I’m rejected, just think of it as part of the game…that’s another good approach. If messaging/e-mailing women, I literally have used templates too haha…lame but honestly effective.
