My experiments with getting Argentine girls’s email addresses is still going strong. I’m over 50 approaches now and patterns are slowly emerging.

The more you do something, you the better you get at it. However, there will be times when you feel like you’ve hit a wall, or you’ve regressed in some way. I believe I’m at that point right now. Here are my approaches from Wednesday 26/2/2009.

Approach One:

There’s 1 so-so girl and 2, what appear to be, 9’s standing at the bar. I make sure I walk through their group to get to the bar. I order my drink and then turn to the hottest one. “I have a question…” The bar man returns so I must pay him. I turn back to her, “What do women come to these places for? Do they just want to dance or do they want to meet people?”

She says both and then her friends jump in on it. I notice that the hottest one is not so hot after-all. She’s just blond so it’s distracting. And the other hot one is maybe 40 years old. Bad lighting, menos puntos.

I talk with them for a bit while no less than 6 other guys try to get in on the conversation. But I’m whitey, so the girls don’t pay them any attention. When I feel like it’s going well I leave to go back to my other group of friends.

Throughout the night I come back to them randomly to say something stupid. I’m not exaggerating when I say that during the night they had at least 40 guys approach them. I was standing ordering another drink and the blond one came up to me and held my arm to shield herself against Argentine man attacks.

I watch them scramble out of the club later with guys grabbing their arms left and right wanting to stop them. I didn’t get an email address.

Approach Two:

There are 3 women dancing behind my group. I try to get into their circle and ask a question all while dancing. They are not feeling it. 2 of them quickly dispearse while the third, who is probably 6′3 and over 40 chats for a minute before taking off.
Ouch.

Approach Three:

I believe on this approach I used the “I have a white face” opener. There were 4 girls all dancing excitedly and constantly getting grabbed by Argentine guys. That’s a good sign that they’re pretty.

It’s a strange phenomenon with Argentine girls. Whenever I approach a larger group, one of the girls sticks around to chat and the others disappear. It’s like the Red Sea parting and at the other side stands the one willing to talk. It’s rare that I have to entertain two women at a time.

I start talking to the second cutest girl but I give her points because her dress is cool and she can dance like a hell-cat. The other great thing about her is that she can’t speak much English. This is good because I can tell she likes me which means my body language is solid. No English word charm necessary.

I hand her my little notebook and she runs with it to the bar to write her info. When she comes back, she has written in English, “I don’t know your name. Kisses. You are nice.” I cross out “nice” and write “hot”. She grabs the book again and writes “You are very hot.” Swweeet, I think.

The next morning I look in my book, she never wrote her email address. Haha.

I’m headed back to Buenos Aires later today and then I’ll be leaving for Ecuador or Colombia soon after. Therefore, the Argentine Pickup Experiment might have a slightly smaller sample size than anticipated. However, I think the end data and analysis will still be valid, and at a minimum, interesting.
