I would suggest replacing the bus w/ a scooter. After Insurance & Gas, the thing only costs $35 a month and is significantly more flexible than the bus and after you resell the thing, it would probably be cheaper than the bus!

There's a lot to add to the finances list - and one day I'll compile something similar for myself - but one thing stuck out to me.

$70 per month for utilities after being split among 5 guys!? Yikes!

In my two bedroom apartment in Los Angeles with only two guys, we routinely spend maximum $10 each for gas a month, and $15 a month for electricity. The electricity bill is bound to be a lot lower this coming month, too, because we used to have a PC that was on 24/7 hogging up a lot of power; it's gone now.

On top of that, my share of the Internet is $20 and I also pay about $15 for cable TV I don't watch. (Can't wait for that bill to be gone.)

That adds up to $60 for all of my utilities - $15 of which I don't need and don't use. $120 for all utilities combined in our apartment.

Are you sure your share was $70? You guys had to have had a gas leak or left 5 TVs on 24/7 to rack up that kind of damage.
