With testimonials like these you’d think you were about to read a book written by God himself (The Bible II). In the dating community, many people seriously consider David DeAngelo to be a living legend. So, I thought what the hell, I’ll give it a shot. Here’s my review of ‘Double Your Dating‘ by David Deangelo.

My Story

Growing up I was never great with women. Sure I could attract the ones I didn’t want – the chubby girls for example. But the ones I really wanted never seemed to return the favor. It probably had something to do with the fact that I was a giant wuss of a man and got nervous around them.

But then I read a book that changed my life, the same book that’s changed thousands of other men’s lives and several of my friend’s lives. The book was called ‘The Game’ by Neil Strauss.

Strauss dove deep into a then underground community and emerged as a PUA (pickup artist). Pickup artists literally developed a system for picking up girls that even a nerd could use – you’ve probably seen the show on VH1 The pickup artist.

More than anything, ‘The Game’ inspired me to improve myself and begin understanding what women really want.

In ‘The Game’, Strauss talks about David DeAngelo and ‘Double Your Dating’. DeAngelo had become famous for his method of picking up girls known as cocky funny. DeAngelo seemed like an intelligent dude in ‘The Game’, so I had to find out more about his game.

Double Your Dating

I’m assuming you’re here reading this because either a) you’re tired of not getting girls or b) you want to take your ‘game’ to the next level. ‘Double Your Dating’ can help you do both.

Don’t get me wrong – it’s not perfect – I think DeAngelo might have written it in a night or two because it reads more like a conversation than a book. But, there are golden nuggets throughout nearly 150 pages of material.

There’s a lot of talk about the standard dating advice you hear nowadays: don’t buy girls drinks, looks don’t matter if you’re well groomed and cocky, don’t settle for second-class behavior from women. But this might have something to do with the fact that DeAngelo popularized a lot this stuff.

“An average looking man who takes good care of himself and makes enough money to live comfortably who is cocky, direct, challenging, confident, funny, and in control – one who challenges her constantly and never kisses her ass EVER – will be FAR more fulfilling to a beautiful woman than the other types.” - pg. 20

Much of ‘Double Your Dating’ centers around the concept that it’s OK to be a man. Something guys need to embrace if they want to seriously attract women. Women don’t want to sleep with a man who can’t provide properly for offspring if pregnancy were to happen. DeAngelo also talks extensively about developing as a person, You need to ‘talk positively with yourself’ and ‘your enemies are insecurity and neediness.’

Pg. 32: Do As Much As You Can To Improve

If you want to meet women, you have to:
1) Decide what kind of woman you want.
2) Find out what is attractive to her and be it.
3) Go where these women are likely to be (or set up
a situation where they come to you).
4) Approach and engage them (or, if you can figure
out how to get them to approach you, do that).

He makes it clear that self improvement and long-term commitment to practicing talking to women will go further than any one system or method…

…But, using his material and adopting the cocky funny mindset will get you get there quicker. I can’t help but agree because I’ve found several of his famous techniques, such as cocky funny and the kiss-test to be very effective.

What Is Cocky & Funny Humor?

“Remember… Never give a woman a direct answer… unless it’s no. If a woman complains about something you do, say, “I’m glad you like it” and keep doing it. Deliberately misinterpret or exaggerate what a woman says… and look for sexual innuendos in conversation. Don’t smile too much or laugh at your own jokes.” - pg. 96

The real core of ‘Double Your Dating’ is how to attract women. He wrote the book specifically because there were no other books out there telling men how to do it. If you’re having trouble with approaching women, initiating conversations, and then creating attraction, DeAngelo has you covered.

“One of my favorite ways to approach a woman is to ask her for a “female perspective” on something controversial… especially something related to dating.” -  pg. 126

DeAngleo carries you all the way through to the date and how to escalate the interaction into sex. His 10 steps to a guaranteed great date and his checklists for success are spot on and very helpful.

My Results

I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my game after reading ‘Double Your Dating.’ Many guys maybe ashamed to admit it but I’m not: I needed some help and ‘Double Your Dating’ provided it.

Not only do I think I understand women and the laws of attraction better, but I’m also more sociable with everyone as a result. Is that something to be ashamed of?

‘Double Your Dating’ has made me not only a better man for women – a man capable of providing excitement and pleasure – it’s also made me a better person for society as a whole.

I highly recommend it. I wouldn’t have reviewed it on my blog if I didn’t believe in it.
